Get Involved with the Maine Women’s Conference
The Maine Women’s Conference is powered by dedicated leaders who help shape one of Maine’s premier gatherings for women.
We invite you to get involved as a Board Member or Advisory Council Member and help expand leadership, connection, and opportunity across Maine.
Board Member
Board Members serve in a hands-on leadership capacity, actively planning and executing the annual conference and supporting year-round initiatives.
Board service is a working role requiring consistent engagement, collaboration, and participation throughout the year, particularly in the months leading up to the conference.
Responsibilities
Serve on at least one committee
Attend monthly board meetings (2nd Tuesday, 4:00–5:30 PM)
Contribute to planning, strategy, and conference execution
Participate in conference-day support
Applications for Board roles are reviewed by the Governance Committee in partnership with the relevant Committee Chair.
Committees

Membership & Engagement
Volunteer recruitment, engagement, and board development.
Marketing & Communications
Branding, website, social media, PR, and promotional materials.
Logistics / Technology / Exhibit Hall
Venue coordination, A/V, ticketing systems, and on-site operations.
Sponsorship & Community Partnerships
Sponsor outreach, benefits fulfillment, and partner relations.
Programming
Speaker RFP process, selection, scheduling, and session experience.
Governance
Board structure, policy oversight, and long-term sustainability.
Advisory Council Member
As an Advisory Council Member for the Maine Women’s Conference (MEWC), you will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Board of Directors and organizational leadership. You will lend your voice, perspective, and expertise to help shape MEWC’s future in areas such as programming, sponsorship engagement, community outreach, marketing, and mission impact.
Advisory Council Members provide high-level guidance that strengthens MEWC’s strategic direction and community impact.
Responsibilities
Participate in quarterly meetings
Provide strategic insight on programming, sponsorship, outreach, and marketing
Offer expertise that supports mission alignment and long-term growth
Time Commitment
One quarterly meeting (1.5–2 hours)
Occasional feedback between meetings
Term
Two-year term, renewable once (maximum four consecutive years).
