Tech Panel: Where are the Women? Leaning Into Technology
Women are conspicuously absent in certain fields such as IT and high-tech. A study by Reuters showed that at least a third of technology groups had ZERO women in leadership positions. Women only hold around 25% of professional computing roles in the US. Also, the turnover rate is more than twice as high for women than for men in these industries.
So why are women not represented more in IT and tech industries, and how does this affect you? What is the impact on all women (not just those in technology fields), and how do we change these patterns?
From time with our Tech Panel, you will learn from a group of women with careers in tech companies who range from industry veterans to novices. Discover common obstacles and learn how to navigate through and around them. Help yourself and the women in your life by understanding these issues, what is at stake, and how to reverse the trends.
You will walk away with:
Awareness of why women are not prominent in some fields, such as technology
How to deal with common obstacles like “imposter syndrome”, feelings of not belonging, and self-doubt
How to build alliances and leverage mentor relationships for sustained success
